Ribbon Types
Wax Ribbons
Wax ribbons produce crisp, clear scannable images at an economical price. Wax ribbons are capable of printing at high speeds. If your chosen label will not be exposed to rough conditions, or not scanned with a contact scanner, then a wax ribbon would be the choice for you. Wax Ribbons are mainly used for labels on shipping cartons.
Wax Resin Ribbons
Wax resin ribbons offer both a Wax and a Resin ribbon together, offering improved performance over a wax ribbon and at a lower cost than most Resin ribbons. These ribbons have two layers. The first layer produces extremely good and clear images, whereas the second layer acts as a protective film for smudge and scratch resistance.
Resin Ribbons
Resin ribbons produce excellent print that is smudge and scratch resistant. Images printed with resin ribbons will last as long as the label itself. These ribbons are recommended in harsh environments, where handling is expected.
